It does not matter if I am photographing people, places or things, my quest is always for light. Beautiful Light. Soft. Sparkling. Dramatic. Light has a thousand different qualities and I am on a quest to photograph my favorite people, places and things in every kind of light! Recently I went to Bella Vista AR and saw light trapped in a hundred ways inside a crystaline glass chapel.
And the light glowed around it and within it, and I sought to capture it for Katelyn Ann Mazurkiewicz and Aaron Ray Horton, wedded on June 20th at the Mildred B. Cooper memorial Chapel.
Glass, greenery, light, and natural wood. These were the decorations in the lush Ozark forest in honor of the bride and groom. Inside and outside, both sun and shadow celebrated summer with the wedding party.
And Laughter and Love were as brilliant and beautiful as the bright light.
Light. Moments. Magic. And Making Memories!

I want to share an image I created of and for my Mom five years ago. As many of you, already know, my mom gave up her long fight with heart failure and Alzheimer’s disease and went with the angels on July 1. No one is ever really prepared for the loss of a parent, but I know in my heart she has sweet peace now.I celebrate her life. She was my best friend and confidante as well as my Mom, and I wish every mother and daughtercould enjoy the kind of unconditional love I knew with her as a child, teen and adult. She taught me to see beauty in the simple things like her cracked green teacup, and she helped me name my studio “angel-kissed.” Here is her favorite portrait of the many I created of her over the years, and the poem I have written for her. And I feel “Angel Kissed” to have known her all my life.
For MaMa 1921-2010
Today I dedicate the sunshine to you. Today I give you the beauty of birdsong and the bustle of NYC traffic.
Today I cherish you with every one of my smiles.
And I anoint you with every one of my tears.
Today I applaud you in the voice of thunder before spring rain.
And and in the crash of winter waves on your beach.
Today I kiss you with the breezes that rustle the roses you planted.
And I bless you with the aroma of fresh pie-crust and the flavor of your bitter-sweet coffee.
I wrap you in the satin gold of sunrise and the lavender velvet of twilight.
Today I dedicate to you my heartbeat and remember you with each breath,
for today I celebrate your beautiful soul!
